Analysis: Washington, D.C., has 115th highest home vacancy rate among U.S. counties.

The number of vacant homes in Washington, D.C., was more than 2,600 in the third quarter of 2018, a 152-unit increase over what it was a year ago, according to real estate numbers reported by ATTOM Data Solutions.

The jurisdiction had the 115th highest home vacancy rate among the 405 counties with 50,000 or more single-family homes and condos in the analysis. The rate stood at 1.74 percent in the third quarter, up from 1.66 percent in the third quarter of 2017.
