Amtrak issued the following announcement on April 1.

On Friday, March 29, 2019, the Amtrak Board of Directors appointed Roger Harris to the position of Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, responsible for corporate marketing, sales distribution, network and consist planning, market research and pricing and revenue management, along with the Northeast Corridor, State-Supported and Long-Distance Service Lines. Harris will succeed Tim Griffin, who has elected to retire from Amtrak on April 12.

“Roger’s mix of transportation experience makes him a great fit for this position,” said Amtrak President & CEO Richard Anderson. “He will continue to advance the customer-focused strategies that are driving the company to the next level of ridership and revenue performance.”

Harris joined Amtrak in January 2019 as Vice President, Long-Distance Service Business Line after more than 25 years of experience in the transportation industry. Before joining Amtrak, Harris served as Senior Vice President of Revenue, Distribution & Alliances for Aeromexico, which is Mexico’s No. 1 domestic airline with $3 billion in annual revenue. Prior to Aeromexico, Harris held leadership roles at Delta Air Lines, Sun Country Airlines, GMAC Financial Services, Northwest/KLM Airlines and Chrysler Motors.
